Pricing

All subscription prices are in Australian dollars and are GST exempt. Payment must be received in Australian currency. CSIRO reserves the right to amend our subscription prices from time to time. For clarity, if you have purchased a subscription for a subscription term, the subscription price will not be varied during that term (but this excludes any renewal terms).

Shipping and delivery

Your print subscription will start with the next issue, which may take up to eight weeks for delivery. Shipping is by surface mail throughout Australia and airmail overseas. If you do not receive your copy as expected, or have any questions regarding your order, please contact us:

Privacy

When you place an order with us we will record your name, relevant addresses, contact and payment details as required to confirm, bill and deliver your order. We will use your personal details to administer your subscription. This may include queries relating to your order, subscription renewal reminder notices, and Double Helix surveys. Refunds / cancellations

We will extend your subscription pro-rata if we are at fault in failing to deliver you an issue of the print magazine. To the extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer law), subscription payments will not be refunded once a payment has been made. Use of website

If you are under 18 years old, you may use this website only with the consent and involvement of your parent or guardian, and by continuing to use this website they also agree to these terms.

“You” or “your” under these terms means the person using this website and if the person is under 18 years old, it also includes the person’s parent or guardian.

Activities

You should read and follow the activities, instructions and warnings on this website or in Double Helix magazine carefully to make sure you don't injure yourself. Make sure that an adult supervises any activity where the instructions say so, and that you use all ingredients and tools in accordance with the instructions. Some activities might involve dangerous substances. Do not allow those dangerous substances to touch you, particularly your eyes and mouth. Adults, please exercise judgment to ensure activities are age appropriate and adequately supervised. CSIRO has taken all due care in developing the activities described on this website or in the Double Helix magazine, but to the extent permitted by law will not accept any liability for outcomes arising from your participation in these activities.

Comments and moderation

This website includes a blog for CSIRO’s Double Helix magazine. If you are under 18 years old, CSIRO requires permission from your parent or guardian before accepting any personal information from you.

We encourage you to leave a comment on our site. This could include your ideas, feelings or impressions about an article, or a sharing of your experiences. We will publish the best comments for other readers to see! If we do publish your comment, we will also publish your name and the link to your website (if any) that you submit through our website. We will not publish your email. You grant to CSIRO a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to publish your comment(s) on our website (including any updated versions of the Double Helix website). Please make sure you have the rights to grant this licence to CSIRO before submitting your comment on our website.

We expect your best behaviour. Any comments that contain the following material, or link to such material, will be rejected automatically and not be published:

threatening, violent, insulting or aggressive language
images or language that is explicitly or suggestively sexual
